19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts
A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden title for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a torrid period, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the American major.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - led to him falling of the top ten and eventually parting ways with former mentor Cervara.
Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the past month - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial trophy after the Rome competition and first on a hard court from spring of 2023.
Success also means Medvedev has won twenty-one championships at 21 various events.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my children at once, so to get a trophy is particularly special," said world number 14 the champion.
"This title is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his previous six title deciders, comprising in the German tournament in the past months.
His counter-punching strategy and regular emotional displays on court had caused commentators to doubt if his ability to perform at the highest level was over.
But the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and compete positively, reinforced by an improved serve.
Medvedev came back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, taking 4 of the last five points to go ahead.
Both players traded breaks in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his initial ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to force a decider.
He rescued 4 early chances in a tight third set before the champion won the break to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev earned victory with a point at the net, with his opponent unable to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
